This morning at 10:20am, millions of people worldwide will practice how to “Drop, Cover and Hold On” during Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills.
In the event of an emergency do you and your loved ones have a plan? Do you have a designated meeting place if you are away from home?
Do you have enough food and water supplies? Do you have an earthquake kit? Experts advise to have at least 72 hours worth of water and food, though many say that is not sufficient in the event of "The Big One".
For more information on the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills click here. We encourage everyone to participate and practice the drill procedure.
CBC has a great podcast called "Fault Lines" which describes the type of disaster and aftermath we could face if/when "The Big One" hits.
Inform yourself. Get a plan together. Practice with your loved ones.
